It is at the
Downtown
Standard's 24/7
Restaurant, that
and any number
of other
delicious late
night treats are
available on the
Over Night menu,
served from 11pm
to 6am. And if
that 7 hour
block of time
does not work
with your social
calendar, you
have 17 others
to choose from,
as what this
place says, it
means; they are
open 24 hours a
day, 7 days a
week.
Everything on
the California
New American
cuisine menu is
served up with a
side of trendy,
from the bright
yellow booths
that work oh so
well with the
general mod
decor, to the
diner-esque
counter to the
hip wait staff
in short old
school dresses
with motorcycle
boots.
California New
American
cuisine-what
does that mean?
For breakfast,
it could be a
standard
continental
breakfast, but
the juice is
fresh squeezed
watermelon. For
lunch, a BLT,
but add an A for
avocado. For
dinner, your
French Fries can
come with a
gorgonzola
fondue. In
short, all the
normal food
suspects are on
this menu, they
just come with a
California
twist.
There is plenty
of attitude
here, but it is
not of a foodie
nature, so if
that is you,
then this place
is not. The food
is good, but
this joint is
more about a
vibe, and a
scene, and being
seen; it is a
walk on some
other side of
dining where
everyone is
someone,
beautiful and
cool. Quite
frankly, it is
too many things.
And they are all
good, 24/7, 365.
