Since their
opening,
they have
been
featured in
just about
every foodie
magazine
there is;
Gourmet,
Food & Wine,
Wine and
Sprits, to
name a few,
and have
been on top
lists in LA
Magazine as
well as
featured in
the LA Times
Restaurant
Guide.
Appellation
D’Origine
Controlee,
better
known to
Angelino’s
as A.O.C.,
is still the
hip,
happening
spot it has
been since
it opened.
And why not?
A wine and
food bar in
a chic,
urban, Euro
style
setting run
by
proprietors
who have a
passion for
wine can
only be a
good thing!
The menu of
wine and
food has
been chosen
oh so
carefully to
compliment
one another.
There are no
entrée sized
portions,
rather,
small plates
so you can
have a nosh
of this, and
a little
dollop of
that. The
menu is
divided into
the
categories
of cheese,
charcuterie,
salads, fish
and meat,
and a few
items from
the wood
burning oven
as well as
dessert. The
center piece
of the room,
and really,
the main
attraction,
is the
Cruvinet, a
specially
designed
system for
keeping
bottles
fresh, which
is the how
and why of
the 50
offerings by
the
glass….23 or
them $7 or
less. Think
of it as an
alter to the
vine. And
for those of
us who adore
wine, there
is no better
place to
worship.
