Mi Casa es su Casa…
Nestled in between Plaza One and Two of Downtown Los Angeles’s financial district, Casa offers dining al fresco style for the busy on-the-go business tycoon or the latest tourist to our shining city. Taking inspiration from the four-wheeled curbside cuisine known as the taco truck, restaurateur Mario del Pero and Chef Kris Morningstar have created a destination that marries California fine dining with the rich traditions of Mexican cooking. Featuring both an outdoor patio equipped with fire pit and a sexy interior filled with Latin sounds, sights, and smells, Casa was designed to capture the cool trendiness of the LA restaurant scene while being both inviting and upscale.

During the day, Casa caters to the local businesses by offering a quick-service, “Taqueria Menu”, that allows diners to customize their order by choosing a meat filling then assigning it to a dish (burrito, enchilada, taco, etc.). During dinner Casa turns into a more formal dining experience with warm, attentive service, sweet drinks and tasty eats. They also offer an excellent Happy Hour during the week and a “Taco Truck” menu from 10 pm to 12 am for those out for a late bite to eat. Looks like Casa is out to please everyone.

If the mood strikes you can hide away in one of the semi-private Casitas and begin your dining experience with one of Casa’s signature drinks such as the Margarita Lavanda, infused with fresh lavender. For something unique with a kick, try the Margarita Picante made with real jalapeno puree. Make that two kicks I think. Next, go for one of the Bocaditos (little bites) like the Albondigas or Queso Flameado. You can also dive right in and go straight for one of the delicious entrees such as the Pascada a la Veracruza, featuring Mahi Mahi roasted in a banana leaf and topped with a tomato caper sauce on a bed of citrus rice, yum! Finish your meal off with the sweetness of the Churros con Chocolate or Tres Leches. Am I making you hungry? One can never go wrong with melted cheese, margaritas, and deep fried decadence.

A visit to Casa is a definite must and unique experience in and of itself. Come see some of the best that Los Angeles has to offer under the towering skyscrapers of Downtown in the midst of a Renaissance.
