Cliff's Edge
is that cool
kind of place
with little
signage,
concealed by
greenery covered
walls and no
other
identifying
features; on the
outside at
least. Inside,
particularly on
the patio,
ambience
abounds. It
really all
centers on the
giant fig tree,
a 100 years old
if it is a day,
the endless
branches adorned
with lights and
the two levels
of dining
available in
this secluded
garden oasis.
If al fresco
is not part
of your
dining plan,
or there is
no table
because you
did not make
reservations,
eating
inside the
minimalist,
low-ceilinged,
dimly lit
room is not
so bad
either. The
menu is
Italian
Mediterranean,
think penne
wild boar
ragu,
honey-sautéed
figs over
toasted
brioche, and
you get a
feel for the
fare. Brunch
here is the
best, so
book a
table,
lounge,
linger and
marvel that
this little
spot exists
in LA.
