At first glance,
Coupa
Cafe
appears as just
another coffee
house, but this
fabulous coffee
house is also a
gem of a
restaurant
located right in
the heart of
Beverly Hills.
Serving the
finest
Venezuelan
coffee to be
found in all of
LA, they also
have one of the
most interesting
and unique
menu's we have
run across in
quite some time,
with a strong
Venezuelan
focus.
The first bite
of food to pass
our lips was an
Arepas. We had
to order one
because we did
not know what it
was! In case you
are wondering,
it is a
wonderfully
light, white
corn meal sort
of English
muffin, stuffed
with a myriad of
fillings; ours
sun dried
tomatos and goat
cheese...delightful!
Pair an Arepas
with a salad,
and you have a
fantastic meal.
And by the way,
the blue cheese
salad is lovely,
as are any of
the crepes, the
empanadas, the
fried plantains,
and on and on.
The menu is
large, and
offers a wide
array of food
that has
something for
every palate.
Whatever you
start with, the
end of your meal
should include
something
chocolate, as
Coupe Cafe is
one of the few
exclusive
locales in Los
Angeles of Chuao
Chocolatier, a
fine, fine
chocolate
company who
specializes in
fusion
chocolate.
Fusion as in
Chevere: a silky
goat cheese and
Pear Williams
buttercream with
a touch of
crushed black
peppercorns
inside a dark
Venezuelan
chocolate
bonbon. Can you
imagine?
You really could
spend the entire
day at Coupa
Cafe; start with
breakfast and
coffee, linger
until lunch.
After lunch, sip
a glass of wine
whiling away the
afternoon until
it is dinner
time. Order a
fabulous entree,
and end the
evening with a
spectacular
piece of
chocolate! We
like this place
enough to do
just that; at
the Coupa, we
fell in love.
