To
Carve or Not
to Carve –
Just Tell Me
When to Stop
On
restaurant
row in
Beverly
Hills is one
of our
favorite
restaurants
in the city,
Fogo
de Chao,
a Brazilian
Churrascaria
– steakhouse
extraordinaire,
all you can
eat. They
just happen
to have one
of the best
salad bars
in the whole
of So Cal as
well. After
feasting on
salad, a
parade of
Gaucho chefs
will offer
to carve for
you table
side -
tempting,
mouthwatering
meat treats,
almost every
type of meat
imaginable:
filet
mignon, lamb
chops, top
sirloin,
pork loin,
chicken
wrapped in
bacon, both
pork and
beef ribs as
well as the
new Beef
Ancho – the
prime part
of the rib
eye flavored
as the name
suggests. In
fact, all of
the meat is
slow-roasted
over an open
flame,
flavored and
seasoned to
perfection.
That is of
course, the
Gaucho way.
The meal is
accompanied
by the
traditional
Brazilian
sides of
warm cheese
bread,
mashed
potatoes,
crispy
polenta and
fried
banana’s,
all served
family
style. The
question
then, do you
indulge in
the side
dishes, or
save all
your
appetite for
the
delicious
grilled
meats - the
real focus
at Fogo de
Chao?
One question
you will not
have a hard
time
answering
here is,
wine or no
wine?
The Fogo de
Chao
franchise
has won the
Wine
Spectator
Award of
Excellence 7
years
running, and
their
extensive
wine list –
selections
from
domestic, to
South
American, to
Italian to
European -
has been
chosen to
compliment
and enhance
the menu,
creating a
unique and
authentic
dining
experience.
The 27ft
tall wine
cellar at
the
entrance, a
bit dramatic
and awe
inspiring,
well, that
should tell
you, they
are serious
about their
wine
pouring.
Just know
that any and
all choices
here are
good. A meal
shared at
this spot is
always fun,
and special.
It’s lively-
and yet, you
linger, you
laugh and
you will
love all
that is Fogo
de Chao.
