Putting the Metal to the Pedal

According to their website, Grill ‘Em All is filling the void that music and mayhem can not. Metal loving foodies, your time has come; raise your fist, bang your head, and rub your happy tummy - these burgers rock. Conquering the food truck charts with a bullet, Grill ‘Em All is about more than food; for owners Matthew Chernus and Chef Ryan Harkins, it’s about a Metal loving lifestyle.

Let’s start with the name; for those not up to speed, Grill ‘Em All is a riff on the title of Metallica’s first album, Kill ‘Em All. For those in the really slow lane, Metallica is the 9 time Grammy winning quintessential Heavy Metal band. And make no mistake, this is a Heavy Metal food truck, complete with red lightning bolts, ketchup wielding zombie hands, Viking helmeted burgers and French fry conjuring wizards, set against black. Music is served up loud, local bands are promoted often and Metal swag is available on their website. And the menu reads like a who’s who of Metal greats.

Feeling flirty? Order the Molly Hatchet- seared fennel smoked sausage gravy, apple wood smoked bacon, maple drizzle –definitely not a disaster. Blue Cheer, topped with cranberry gastrique, Maytag blue spread, and munchos potato chips is considered by many an eater to be the best burger on the menu. And bring your hungry when ordering the Behemoth as this is a burger framed by two grilled cheese sandwiches masquerading as buns – it is huge and delicious. There is often a guest star burger, like the recent Dee Snider; peanut butter, jelly, bacon, and sriracha – are you gonna take it? As for sides, the fresh hand cut double dipped pomme frites with truffle oil is the only way to fry.

Not only a foodie fan favorite, this truck is a media darling, recently taping a Food Wars episode for the Travel Channel and they are one of the contestants in the Food Networks upcoming The Great Food Truck Race. Metalheads and meateaters unite; when you’re scarfing down one of these beauties, nothing else matters.
