In the movie 300
when the Spartan
King Leonidas
bellowed,
“Tonight we dine
in Hell,” who
knew he was
talking about a
pizza joint?
Lucifer’s Pizza
in Los Feliz is
the king (of the
underworld) of
all gourmet
pizza places.
The minute you
drive up to the
storefront you
know this will
be a dining
experience like
no other. The
paint and flames
painted on the
exterior are
complemented by
red velvet
couches, metal
drapes, and even
an ominously
red, glowing
drink dispenser.
The tables are
small, but cozy;
although I
wouldn’t
recommend
bringing a large
group friends
and trying to
sit all
together. Nor
would I
recommend coming
here for a
cocktail, as of
yet, Lucifer’s
does not serve
alcohol.
While this place
is very much
about the décor,
atmosphere, and
attitude, the
pizza is equally
spicy and
sinfully
delicious. And
despite the
tongue-in-cheek
theme, Lucifer’s
takes their
pizza seriously,
flying in dough
straight from
New York.
Lucifer’s also
believes that
pizza should be
as unique as the
customer and
they back this
up with their
“Damned Good
Pizza Menu” by
serving up all
sorts of topping
combinations
that you would
never expect to
see on a pizza,
such as Pumpkin,
Greek Lamb and
Rosemary,
Cranberry
Chicken or The
Growler which
features salmon,
cream cheese and
arugula. And as
you would
expect, hell is
pretty hot; you
must choose your
chili rating
before you order
and everything
is
flame-grilled.
In addition to
pizza, they
offer seven
deadly sides to
go with that
“gore”-met
pizza. You won’t
have to sell
your soul to get
a dinner either
–everything is
reasonably
priced.
Drop in for a
quick bite or
take out – if
your friends
give you a hard
time about
ordering yet
another pizza
just tell them
the devil made
you do it.
