Sometimes,
culinarily
speaking,
all you
really want
is to visit
an old
friend - the
comfort, the
familiarity,
the taste
you crave –
oh it can
make us so
happy!
PORTERHOUSE
BISTRO,
one of our
favorite
steak houses
in the
entire city,
is that kind
of place,
that kind of
friend. To
get the feel
for this
joint, all
one needs to
do is read
The
Porterhouse
Conspiracy,
the tongue
in cheek
creed that
lays down
the house
rules, which
start with
“loosen your
tie if you
are wearing
one”.
Dishes such
as lamb,
southern
fried
chicken and
fish are on
the menu-
Prime beef
is the real
draw here -
all cuts,
all amazing.
But what
keeps the
regulars
coming back
is the
4-course
prix fixe
menu for
just under
$45, which
includes 2
cocktails,
great
service and
delicious
food, seven
days a week.
And though
it is “prix
fixe” you do
get to do
quite a bit
of choosing;
choices for
your cut of
meat, your
bowl of
soup, your
plate of
salad or
perhaps a
selection
from the
appetizer
menu. Then
there are
the side
selections,
nine
options, and
a dessert
finish – six
choices!
Insider
note: when
choosing
your sides,
the creamed
corn should
always be
one of them
– it is
classic, and
tasty.
Dessert is a
toss up
between the
crème Brule
and the
banana cream
pie –
hopefully
you can
share with a
friend, and
have a
scrumptious
bite of
each.
Owner Bobby
Burton says
it simply,
“The best
porterhouse
steak you
will ever
have”…..and
we agree,
certainly
for the
price.
Reservations
are always
being taken,
and with the
way this
house packs
them in, are
always
recommended.
