Hollywood
may not be
by the
water, but
sitting at
the raw bar
at The
Hungry Cat
will make
you feel
like you are
on the
shore. (That
means the
seafood is
really fresh
in case you were
wondering
what the
heck I am
talking
about.)
Occupying an
industrial-chic
space, the
casual
dining spot
focuses its
impressive
talents on
classic
fresh
seafood
fare. The
nine- seat
raw bar
specializes
in some very
formidable
seafood
platters
including
the 3-tier
extravaganza
that is –
“The Hungry
Cat.” This
kitty must
be famished
because it
features
everything
from oysters
to mussels,
Dungeness
crab, sea
urchins, and
peel-and-eat
shrimp, and
that is just
on the first
tier.
If you love
what the
mighty ocean
has to
offer, you
will be
ecstatic
over the
menu with
such
offerings as
Chincoteague
Oyster
Chowder,
Baltimore
Crab Cakes
with aioli
or
Rosemary-Grilled
Trout with
braised
cabbage and
apples.
Enhance the
evening or
afternoon
out with a
refreshing
cocktail
from the
bar. This is
always a
good way to
start in my
opinion.
What to
choose;
Perhaps
something
from the
“Seasonal
Cats” list
such as a
Howlin’
Wolf, or
maybe a
concoction
from the
“Classic
Cats”
selection
like Luke’s
Lemonade.
There is
also the
“Virgin
Cats” list
for those
who have to
the drive
the Seasonal
and Classic
cats back
home. Plus
an eclectic
list of
wines from
both local
producers as
well as
established
wineries,
many
available by
the glass or
carafe.
Let’s see,
we have an
exciting
venue with
seafood
practically
pulled from
the ocean
when we
order it,
plus a
cocktail and
wine list
offering new
and
interesting
refreshments.
What else do
we need
except you
and someone
(or more) to
share it all
with. This
Hungry Cat
has a fancy
feast for
you and it
so does not
come in a
can. Bon
Appetite!
