Drago is as Drago Does – And Nobody Does it Better

The Drago brothers have done it again; for twenty years now the Drago family name has been synonymous with fine dining and Via Alloro, one of their newer ventures, is feeding the legacy well. The name is brothers Giacomino and Tanino’s way of paying homage to the street they grew up on in Sicily, Via Alloro. The street they grew up on is also where many of the recipes come from, traditional family secrets, various using the spice alloro – in English, the bay leaf.

Suffice to say anything on the extensive menu is delicious and expertly prepared.
Favorites of foodies abound, oft mentioned are the grilled warm octopus, the linguini with fresh sea urchin, veal Milanese and any crisp and flavorsome pizza from their stone oven. For dessert the choices are numerous, but the warm pistachio molten cake with chocolate fondue really can’t be beat, and trust us, is something you should eat.
The décor at Via Alloro is a bit of a departure from the other restaurants in the Drago empire. Rather than a traditional European style you will find a more modern space, circular, lots of wood and glass with lights twisting like tree branches overhead. Inside is a lounge like vibe complete with seven flat sceen TV’s for your viewing pleasure. The 100 seat wrap around patio is the most awesome al-fresco choice in Beverly Hills, and can be quite the scene in which to be seen, as Hollywood’s A-listers often are.
Most importantly for wine enthusiasts, Alloro has the Enomatic. If you have not experienced the Enomatic wine service yet, you must. Sample more varietals by the glass in one place than you can possibly imagine, all with perfect 1 ounce pours. If you like one of them enough, you can have more, 6 ounces to be exact. This is also a great way to pair the perfect sip to accompany each plate you order, 3 ounces for that.

Though it goes without saying, we will; if it’s Drago, it’s got to be good. Via Alloro is Drago, and it’s most definitely good.
