ANNOUNCE
the
SHOE
DRIVE TO
BENEFIT
the
people
of
earthquake
stricken
Haiti.
Douglas Emmett
tenants are
invited to
recycle their
'gently worn'
shoes as part of
the global
effort to help
the people of
Haiti.
Why shoes are
critical: People are
in immediate
need of the most
basic
necessities,
like food,
water, AND
SHOES.
Soles4Souls is
working to
provide one
million pairs
of new boots and
shoes to help
the earthquake
survivors begin
the rebuilding
process.
As you can
imagine, the
amount of broken
glass, twisted
metal and raw
sewage is
staggering. We
will rush this
protective
footwear to them
as quickly as
possible.
Soles4Souls will
accept all types
of footwear
donations and
redistribute
them to people
in need, but
they are
especially
thankful for any
children’s and
athletic shoes.
Look for the
collection box
in the lobby of
your building
starting
Friday January
22nd.
Through February
5th Douglas
Emmett and
Soles4Souls
will be
collecting your
gently worn
footwear
to ship the
shoes to the
people of Haiti
who are in great
need.
Please tie
each pair of
shoes together
with their
shoelaces or
pair together
with a rubber
band and place
in the
