This Week/THEATRE:  Top Secret: The Battle for the Pentagon Papers
At What Cost Security in TOP SECRET

It’s the right of the press to inform the American People versus national security in Geoffrey Cowan’s and Leroy Aaron’s TOP SECRET, THE BATTLE FOR THE PENTAGON PAPERS. For it is with these immortal words: “A cantankerous press must be suffered by those in authority in order to preserve…the right of the People to know." that a Federal judge hands a momentous victory to the American press in 1971.
When the Washington Post decides to publish the infamous Pentagon Papers detailing U.S. involvement in Vietnam, the Nixon Administration pulls out all the stops to suppress it. Reminiscent of “The Great Tennessee Monkey Trial”, this riveting docudrama follows the intrepid Post reporters as they struggle to balance free speech and national security. A star studded cast including Gregory Harrison, John Heard and Susan Sullivan help bring this intense drama to its shattering conclusion. Those that do not learn from history are bound to repeat it.
