We hear about
volunteering all
the time. Always
something that
is a good idea –
always something
that we are
going to do. And
yet, many times
we just don’t
get around to it.
Well now one of
the happiest
places on the
earth might just
make it a little
easier to give
of your time and
yourself. What
am I talking
about? The
Give a
Day, Get A
Disney Day
program running
from January 1,
2010 till
December 15th or
until one
million tickets
are given away.
How do YOU or a
member or your
family get a
free ticket to
Disneyland? Well
it is really
quite simple.
All you have to
do is volunteer
one day of your
time at a
participating
organization and
Disney will give
you a free
ticket to the
Magic Kingdom.
There are so
many ways to
help others and
some of them can
be down right
fun when you get
right down to
it. Simply go to
the Disney
website and type
in your zip code
for
opportunities in
your area. You
do have to be at
least 18 to
register but
kids as young as
6 and up can
participate.
What a great way
to teach the
young ones in
your life how
important it is
to give of
yourself to help
others. In the
end it makes
your community
and the world in
general a better
place and isn’t
that something
we all want?
Volunteering can
take so many
forms including:
Feeding the
homeless,
working with
animals, helping
clean up the
environment,
planting trees
for new
generations,
helping out at
elementary
schools,
building
wheelchairs,
assisting
seniors, reading
to children,
working the
local marathons,
the list goes on
and on. No
matter your
interests there
is something
your unique
talents can be
applied to that
will make a
better day for
someone else.
So take a day,
just one, and
get a Disney Day
back in return.
But really, you
will get so much
more. Giving of
yourself can be
contagious, just
ask the man
named Walt.
